The Administration, Board of Trustees, and all stakeholders at Liberty Academy Charter School (LACS) believe that all students can and should be capable of competing in today’s global, information-based economy. This means that students must be able to solve real problems, reason effectively, and make logical connections.

At LACS, we must work hard to provide our students with the skills for 21st century jobs. Our vision of excellent mathematical education is based on the twin premises that all students can learn mathematics and that all students need to learn mathematics. We have designed a math curriculum which allows our learners to achieve mastery of mathematics by becoming involved in the creation of math rules and problems as well as in the solving of math problems. They may memorize some facts, but they will also focus on understanding when and how mathematics is used and how to apply mathematical concepts.

LACS teachers will have resources available to give students opportunities for hands-on experiences that will help them to develop number sense, spatial sense, and estimation skills. Our students will work together solving problems, understanding concepts and using tools such as calculators to achieve the high expectations we hold for them.
